Joan Padeo is a first-generation, multidisciplinary, LA-based artist. She is currently Assistant Choreographer for B. Dunn Movement, and is a dancer with immersive dance-theatre creators, Iris Company. Joan has worked with Carlon, Bryn Cohn + Artists, Acts of Matter, A. Ordaz Dance, and B. Dunn Movement having toured several productions. Aside from fellow independent LA artists, Joan has also worked with Zoe Scofield, Troy Ogilvie, Yuanyuan Wang, Don Martin and performed works by Jiří Kylián and Hans Van Manen.


As a maker, Joan collaborated with Grammy-Award winning musician and composer, Alex Wand, and most recently collaborated with Jaco Wong of C3LA Choir. She regularly sings in her own works, and has sung in many productions by the artists listed above. Her work has been presented by various LA venues including Redcat Theater, Highways Performance Space, Santa Fe Springs Art Festival, and Mimoda Studio Theater.


On screen, Joan can be seen in videos featuring Solange Knowles, Bella Thorne, Fyohna, and James Benton among others performing choreography by artists such as Daisha Graf, Gerard & Kelly, and herself. She has also landed spots on commercials, which she additionally assisted in choreographing.


Joan is certified in C-I Training™, attended LACHSA, and is an associate alumni of the Boston Conservatory. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography from California Institute of the Arts, where she studied Dance Pedagogy under renowned Dance Science Researcher and Professor, Donna Krasnow, and was nominated for the Princess Grace Award.
